Kseniya Simonova's Amazing Sand Drawing
By
Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who just won Ukraine's version of "America's Got Talent." She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.

@leightweight420 People know the history, and the history is VERY sad.
Lives of millions people were broken. Isn't that a sufficient reason for tears? And, what is worse, the past mistakes don't teach people anything(

@Alkiryas He really did-she got one of those terrible letters – "похоронка" – killed in battle" notice – and then her face grew older with sorrow…so.

Of course, she did a great job but the theme of the Second World War causes so much pain in the folks of past U.S.S.R., that only listening to these songs arouses deep feelings and tears.

She is just amazing. Everything flows together so smoothly: the music, the movement, the speed of which she draws. And the story is touching.

My art teacher showed our class this video in school when we were preparing to go to Washington D.C, Which of course has the Holocaust museum. This video totally moved me and saddened me. This is what true, real, honest, moving, and beautiful art is.
